After an extensive design competition and subsequent unanimous approval by the Pasadena City Council, the greater community has been invited to share this distinctive and extraordinary project with the Pasadena Armenian Genocide Memorial Committee (PAGMC). Working in concert with the Pasadena Parks and Recreation Commission, the northwest corner of Memorial Park was selected by the City as the final location for this respectful and appropriate memorial. The memorial is planned to be completed in time for the 100th commemoration of the atrocities perpetrated on the Armenian people, many of whom have decedents living in Southern California.

The Blessing, Dedication and Genocide Remembrance will be held on Sunday, April 27, 6:00 p.m. at Memorial Park (85 East Holly Street) in Pasadena.

Last year, the Pasadena Armenian Genocide Memorial Committee, a non-profit community organization, spearheaded the design and approval of this important and poignant memorial. This year, PAGMC is bringing together the Armenian American Community, religious & civic leaders, local school choirs, student speakers, community groups and many others in Pasadena and throughout the San Gabriel Valley to join with PAGMC to consecrate the park location.
