Bethel Church Announces Back to School Giveaway Set for August 9th

 

 

Pasadena’s Bethel Missionary Church is giving away some 200 backpacks stuffed with school supplies during its annual Back-to-School Giveaway on August 9th, assisted by benevolent church members and other donors.

Pastor John McCall of the local Bethel Church said the giveaways continue to grow in number from the time they started with 50 backpacks in 2013.

“Each year, we’re trying to make it bigger and make it better. We’re hoping one of these years, we’ll try to turn it into a real carnival, make sure the kids are having lots of fun, food and games, and stuffed backpacks,” McCall said.

McCall says they have been attracting more sponsors who are willing to help get more kids back to school ready to take on the school year’s challenges, and their members are getting more enthusiastic every year.

“Our goal is to expand it and we’re just trying to show the neighborhood that we are a caring church.”

The Annual Back-to-School Giveaway is a yearly activity for all Bethel Missionary Churches nationwide and features the free backpacks stuffed with school supplies plus other innovations depending on the location.

Pastor McCall says the church continues to entertain inquiries from people interested to help in the annual back-to-school giveaway.

“Just call the office and tell us what role they want to play. If they want to give away food and stuff, we’ll be more than happy to add them.”
