Pop music star Justin Bieber will not be coming to the Rose Bowl this weekend after all. According to a statement released Monday, Bieber has suddenly cancelled the remainder of his current tour and all ticket money will be returned.

A statement from Bieber management said, “Due to unforeseen circumstances, Justin Bieber will cancel the remainder of the Purpose World Tour concerts. Justin loves his fans and hates to disappoint them. He thanks his fans for the incredible experience of the Purpose World Tour over (the) last 18 months. He is grateful and honored to have shared that experience with his cast and crew for over 150 successful shows across 6 continents during this run. However, after careful consideration he has decided he will not be performing any further dates. Tickets will be refunded at point of purchase.”

Said Darryl Dunn, general manager of the Rose Bowl Operating Company, ‘We are obviously disappointed, and we know fans are disappointed. There was a lot of demand and a lot of tickets sold. But certain things happen.”

Dunn added that he hoped the show was a postponement, and not a full cancellation, but that the Rose Bowl is currently working on a number of new events for this current fiscal year, which runs through July 1, 2018.

“We’re working on a few things, and we are cautiously optimistic that we can stage some major events in the coming year,” he said.
