Bishop Gene Robinson to Preach at All Saints Pasadena on Sunday

All Saints Church welcomes back friend, ally and partner in just-peacemaking, Bishop Gene Robinson to Pasadena on Sunday, September 22. He will preach at both the 9:00 and 11:15 a.m. services and speak in the Rector’s Forum at 10:15 a.m. “Bishop Robinson is one of our generation’s great examples of a life lived in witness to the values of compassion, justice and equality,” said All Saints rector Ed Bacon. “We could not be more delighted to welcome him back to All Saints Church as we continue to work together to make God’s love tangible to absolutely everybody.”

Recently retired as the 9th Bishop of New Hampshire, Gene Robinson was the first openly-gay Bishop elected in the Episcopal Church and gave the opening prayer at President Barack Obama’s inauguration. He currently serves as a Senior Fellow with the Center for American Progress and has been working at the state, national, and international levels for full civil rights for gay, lesbian, bisexual, and transgender people. His story has been featured in two feature-length documentaries, “For the Bible Tells Me So” and “Love Free or Die.” His most recent work, “God Believes in Love: Straight Talk About Gay Marriage,” is a groundbreaking book that persuasively makes the case for same-sex marriage using a commonsense, reasoned, religious argument.
