A roof fire atop a commercial building Friday night reported at 10:18 p.m. brought Pasadena Fire Department and police units to southeast corner of North Altadena Drive and Nina Street.
Arriving units quickly reported smoke showing from the roof of the large commercial structure. A hook and ladder unit extended its aerial ladder to the building’s roof and firefighters climbed up to attack the blaze, authorities said.
The fire was found to be fueled by a pile of debris, and rubbish and quickly extinguished.
Although authorities reported that air conditioning units on the roof were damaged, the fire did not extend into the building’s interior and was contained to the roof.
Damage was estimated to be about $5,000 to the building.
An investigation has been launched into the cause of the fire, according to authorities.
