Bluegrass Sunday Services at La Cañada Presbyterian Church

September 1st is Bluegrass Sunday at the La Cañada Presbyterian Church with “Boggs, Brock & Pratt” providing the toe-tapping tunes for the morning services. In a Sunday worship like you’ve never heard before, instead of a traditional organ and choir, worshippers will be accompanied by the happy sounds of a guitar, fiddle, banjo, mandolin and string bass.

Two-thirds of “Boggs, Brock & Pratt” are composed of twin sisters, Janet Boggs and Judy Brock, who were enormously popular children’s entertainers and recording artists for 20 years (known as “Janet & Judy”). From 1976 to 1996, they played over 8,000 shows and were known nationwide for their popular children’s hits. Though the twins have since retired from the children’s entertainment scene, the two are still very active, performing Christian music and leading youth choirs at LCPC.

Andrew Pratt was born in Bakersfield and moved to Oklahoma at age 11. He graduated in music from Azusa Pacific University in 2006. Besides being a professional audio & tech engineer, he is also the Praise Band Worship Leader at the contemporary services at LCPC.

“Boggs, Brock & Pratt,” will give praise through their “old-timey” music at the 7:55, 9:25, 11:00 a.m. and 5:05 p.m. services on Sunday, September 1st at the La Cañada Presbyterian Church, 626 Foothill Blvd., La Cañada.
