The body of a man in his twenties or thirties was found in crawl space within the I-210 Foothill Freeway bridge over Michillinda Avenue on the East Pasadena-Arcadia border Tuesday at about 11 a.m.

Both Los Angeles County Fire Dept. and Arcadia Fire Department personnel responded to the incident. California Highway Patrol officials said Arcadia paramedics pronounced the man dead.

The man’s identity is not yet known, CHP Officer Vince Ramirez said.

“They found a deceased person … and we don’t know how long he’s been up there,” Ramirez said, who also said it is not known if the man was homeless.

“The overcrossing has been closed off and deemed a crime scene, pending an investigation,” a CHP statement said Tuesday afternoon.

The CHP is handling the investigation, authorities said.

The Michillinda on-ramp was closed and a SigAlert issued about 11:40 a.m. It remained in effect until about 5:00 p.m., logs show.
