[Updated, Corrected on July 30, 2016 | 10:30 p.m.]  Pasadena police said two men in their 50’s were shot in Jackie Robinson Park on Saturday evening, and that one was transported to a local hospital by Pasadena Fire Department paramedics while the other was dropped off a short time later.

Witnesses told Pasadena Now they heard between five to seven shots ring out about 8:15 p.m. The victims were apparently in a parking lot at the northwest end of the park near the corner of West Hammond Street and Morton Avenue.

Pasadena Police Lt. Jason Clawson said that one victim went promptly into surgery for his wounds, and the condition of the other victim was unknown.

Pasadena Fire Department spokesperson Lisa Derderian said one of the victims suffered moderate to severe injuries, but she had no information on the second victim.

One witness said that the victim she saw was an African American man lying on the ground near a dark blue Infinity automobile.

Clawson said there is no suspect information available at this hour. He urged the public to avoid Jackie Robinson Park.
