Police Nab “Doggie Door” Burglary Suspects

Four suspects were arrested for burglary after they allegedly entered a residence through a dog door built into the rear door of the house and stole several items in a widely publicized incident on Friday afternoon, December 20.

Alex Canela, 18; and three unidentified minors aged 16 and 17 years were arrested after they allegedly burglarized a home in the 900 block of North Madison Avenue, according to the Pasadena Police Department.

Police said the suspects took electronic items including televisions, computers and tablets, sports memorabilia, jewelry and the cremated remains of the victim’s parents.

A surveillance camera in the area captured the suspects leaving the vicinity. The police conducted their investigation and were able to identify the suspects.

Canela is being held in the Pasadena Jail on $50,000 bail and is scheduled for arraignment on Friday, January 3.
