Car Slams Into House, Driver Extricated

A driver with a medical condition lost control of his car and slammed into a house in the 800 block of North Catalina Ave. Monday morning shortly before 7:00 a.m., fire department officials said.

Fire department personnel shored up and secured the affected areas of the structure in order to extricate the driver, whose removal was blocked by debris, authorities said.

The driver was not seriously injured and was transported to a local hospital. There were other passengers in the car who were evaluated at the scene, but required no medical treatment.

The driver has been identified only as a man in his 60’s. There are no estimates of damage to the structure at this time.
