The Belrose Duo

The Belrose Duo (David Garrett, cellist and Junko Ueno Garrett, pianist) will perform a concert of three Beethoven sonatas for cello and piano on Saturday, January 19, 2019, at 4:00 p.m. The concert is part of the monthly Third@First Concert Series at First United Methodist Church in Pasadena.
The five sonatas Beethoven wrote for cello and piano present a journey through his whole creative life. The three works chosen for this program begin with one written by the aspiring artist as a young man, progressing to Beethoven’s middle years when deafness began to encroach, and concluding with his triumphant summation of the form.
They are: Sonata in F Major, Op. 5 No. 1; Sonata in A Major, Op. 69; and Sonata in D Major, Op. 102 No. 2.
