ChapCare Expands Again, Opens Peck Health Center in El Monte

The Community Health Alliance of Pasadena (ChapCare) announced Tuesday it will be opening a state-of-the-art Peck Health Center in El Monte, which will bring a range of much needed, primary healthcare services to the underrepresented, underserved, and underinsured families in the city and surrounding areas.

The new center opens on July 13, when families will start having access to a vast array of primary healthcare services including medical – family medicine and women’s health – behavioral health counseling, and health insurance screening and enrollment.

“This one-stop-shop offers the community the opportunity to access a comprehensive array of high-quality primary healthcare services all under one roof,” said Margaret B. Martinez, ChapCare CEO. “We are proud to be able to expand our nationally recognized primary health care model with the addition of this new health center in the City of El Monte.”

ChapCare’s new El Monte facility is located at 3703 Peck Road, Suite A, El Monte. The center is easily accessible via Foothill Transit and the Metro bus. Hours of operation are Monday through Friday, 8 a.m. up to 5 p.m.

Additional ChapCare health center locations are located in the El Monte/South El Monte region, including ChapCare Garvey, at 10127 Garvey Avenue in El Monte, and ChapCare Vacco, at 10408 Vacco Street, Suite A, South El Monte.

ChapCare was founded in 1995 by a group of community residents, city officials, and health care agencies to establish primary healthcare services for low-income, uninsured residents in Pasadena. ChapCare began providing medical services in 1998 and dental services in 2001.

Today, ChapCare is a Federally Qualified Health Center (FQHC) that provides healthcare services to countless residents of the San Gabriel Valley. ChapCare accepts many covered California plans, and participates in Los Angeles County’s My Health LA Program.

ChapCare operates four health centers in Pasadena, one health center in Monrovia, and three health centers in El Monte/South El Monte.

ChapCare provides over 64,000 primary healthcare visits annually to over 15,000 patients.
