Chefs Center General Manager Larry Bressler and his wife Denise died Monday morning from wounds suffered in an early-morning knife attack.

Pasadena police say a man who is reportedly a family member stabbed the Bresslers during a dispute in their apartment in the 200 block of North Madison Avenue shortly after 6 a.m.

Police have arrested the suspect, a white man aged 29, a block from the apartment complex as he walked from the crime scene covered in blood, Lt. Tracey Ibarra said.

Media reports indicate the suspect was injured and was transported to a local hospital, where he was arrested.

Ibarra said a 911 call sent officers to the apartment where they located two victims. Both had been repeatedly stabbed.

Denise Bressler “passed away” at the scene, Ibarra said, and Larry Bressler died at an area hospital during surgery at about 9 a.m. Monday.

Ibarra said no other suspects are at large.
