The City Council’s Finance Committee will meet with other members of the Council in a joint session in the Council Chambers at 3:00 p.m. today to focus on the City Manager’s recommended operating budget for 2015.

Six departments will present their budget recommendations: Water and Power, Public Works, Transportation, Public Health, Information Technology and Library.

The 2014 fiscal year budget approved by the City Council in August was $531.2 million in spending, with an estimated $579.3 million in revenues for city-wide operating costs. The budget took effect last July.

Today’s meeting will be televised live on KPAS, the city’s government cable television station. KPAS is seen by Charter subscribers on Channel 3 and online by AT&T U-verse subscribers.

The full Council will also convene its regularly scheduled public meeting at 6:00 p.m. tonight.
