The City of Pasadena’s Department of Housing and Career Services will be conducting a bilingual community survey over the next three months to gauge the “overall experience of fair housing” in the community.
The survey is being as part of an Analysis of Impediments (A.I.) to fair housing that the City is required to conduct as part of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) regulations, Randy M. Mabson, Program Coordinator, said in an email.
The A.I. report will help the City to develop a plan of action to further fair housing.
The Housing Department said the first step of the analysis is this community survey that should be a means to gain the community’s input.

Under the fair housing program, federal and state Fair Housing laws prohibit discrimination in all aspects of housing, including home sales, rentals, housing policies and financing.
Each resident is entitled to equal access to housing opportunities regardless of race, color, religion, sex, national origin, disability/medical conditions, familial status, marital status, age, ancestry, sexual orientation, gender identity, gender expression, source of income, or any other arbitrary reason.
The survey is for City of Pasadena residents only.
