On Thursday, October 11, 2018, City of Pasadena authorities executed a search warrant at the Rose Buds Dispensary, located at 1291 E. Walnut Street. After several months of Cease and Desist letters and numerous violations, a criminal search was conducted resulting in the arrest of three adults. Over twenty-five pounds of marijuana was seized at a value of $115,000 and over $3,000 in cash was collected, City officials said.

Arrested were Rachel Kerns, 31, Long Beach; Omar Camacho, 25, of West Covina; and Devin Jones, 26, of Walnut, police said.

Since June 2018, the City has been diligently trying to get the owners/operators of this business to comply although several months of inspections, citations, Cease and Desist orders and warrants proved ineffective, the City said in a statement.

“As the result, Pasadena Police Officers conducted the criminal search. Pasadena Police, City Planning and Code Compliance personnel, the City Prosecutor and City Attorney representatives were involved in the overall investigation. Charges against the three arrested will be filed next week and there is the potential for additional arrests related to the illegal operations at the dispensary,” the City’s statement said.

“This is the first of many criminal investigations we will be conducting at illegal dispensaries in an ongoing effort to maintain our legal responsibilities and in the interest of public safety. We hope to bring some peace of mind to the neighboring businesses and residents who have been reporting illegal activity at this dispensary,” City Manager Steve Mermell said.
