Phlunte’ Riddle has received the endorsement of the Claremont Police Officers’ Association for her bid for the 25th State Senate District, the Riddle campaign announced today.

“Our association supports Phlunte’ as we feel it is a benefit to have someone who has a law enforcement background and knows the issues at hand,” said David Hardin, President of the Claremont Police Officers’ Association. “Phlunte’ has an extensive background that will serve her well including being an educator, businesswoman, public safety executive, and community leader.”

Claremont POA joins the Pasadena Police Officers’ Association in supporting Riddle’s candidacy. This endorsement comes on the heels of Riddle’s haul of more than $100,000 raised since her announcement in April.

“Having the support of my brothers and sisters in law enforcement is a true honor,” Riddle said. “I am extremely grateful and humbled by the support of the Claremont Police Officers’ Association and look forward to working with them to create safer communities along the Foothills.”

Riddle resides in Pasadena with her husband of 36 years and is the mother of three adult sons. Riddle spent nearly 29 years rising through the ranks of the Pasadena Police Department, breaking barriers as the first woman to be permanently assigned as a gang/street narcotics officer and the first African American female sergeant and lieutenant. She retired as a lieutenant, where she was the Public Information Officer & Adjutant to the Chief of Police.

Riddle is an adjunct professor at Golden West College and owns a consulting company, where she trains executives and helps solve communications challenges in organizations.

The 25th State Senate District encompasses the communities of Pasadena, Burbank, Glendale, Bradbury, Claremont, Duarte, Glendora, La Cañada-Flintridge, La Verne, Monrovia, San Dimas, San Marino, Sierra Madre, South Pasadena, Upland, Altadena, La Crescenta, Montrose, Atwater Village, and Sunland-Tujunga.
