[Updated Wednesday, April 26, 2017 | 7:30 a.m.]   A 30-year-old Hacienda Heights woman who apparently attempted to commit suicide by jumping off the Colorado Street Bridge about 1:31 p.m. Tuesday survived the fall, authorities said.

The unidentified woman was found by police and Pasadena Fire Department paramedics north of the Desiderio housing project below the bridge, near the intersection of Arroyo Boulevard and Arroyo Drive, Lt. Mark Goodman said.

She was breathing when found.

“The woman sustained major injuries throughout her entire body,” Goodman said.

“Engine and Rescue Ambulance 31 arrived off of Arroyo Drive with [police] on scene and found one patient. The female patient was provided advanced life support and transported to a local trauma center,” Lisa Derderian, spokesperson for Pasadena Fire Department.

“Our investigation suggests the woman jumped from the bridge in an effort to take her own life,” Goodman said. “There were no indications of foul play.”

Wednesday morning, the woman remains in critical condition, officials said.
