Construction will begin Wednesday morning on a project to enhance the main entrance to the Lower Arroyo Seco, the Pasadena Department of Public Works announced.
Existing steel pole gates at the entrance will be replaced with new decorative tubular steel gates and Arroyo stone pilasters. Work will also include removal and replacement of the existing curb return type driveway apron, repair asphalt paving, construction of a concrete curb, and construction of cobble median paving.
During construction, one of the driveway entrances to the Lower Arroyo Seco will be kept open at all times. Due to the partial closure at the entrance, motorists are advised to expect traffic at the entrance. The project contractor will place traffic control devices along the entrance, including traffic control cones and other signs.
An inspector from the Department of Public Works wearing a safety vest and City Identification, will be present on the job site most of the time to answer questions or provide assistance if needed.
