Dean of the National Cathedral to Speak Sunday at All Saints Church

Published on Monday, July 7, 2014 | 11:51 am

The Very Reverend Gary Hall, former All Saints Church priest and current dean of the National Cathedral in Washington, D.C. will preach at the 7:30, 9:00 and 11:15 a.m. services at All Saints on Sunday, July 13. In a Forum presentation at 10:15 a.m., Hall will also speak on “Living ‘The Joy of the Gospel’ with Pope Francis I.”

In his beautiful and embracing 2013 statement Evangelii Gaudium (“The Joy of the Gospel”) Pope Francis I invited all Christians “to a renewed personal encounter with Jesus Christ, or at least an openness to letting him encounter them.” What would such an encounter look like? What would be the marks of a Christian community really committed to living out the joy of the gospel? How would that community talk about Jesus and God? How would a church that people actually wanted to belong to behave?

Join Gary Hall as he explores the radical implications of a profound and simple faith.
