Decorated Combat Veteran & Part-time USC Faculty Dr. Ross Selvidge to Seek Area 1 Seat of PCC

A decorated combat veteran and part-time faculty member at USC said today he will be seeking the Area 1 seat of the Pasadena Area Community College Board of Trustees, representing West Pasadena, La Canada Flintridge and the western portion of Altadena.

Dr. Ross Selvidge said he is running to “maintain fiscal discipline and keep PCC great. I am the most experienced and qualified candidate to represent our neighborhoods.”

Selvidge, a former Pasadena Planning Commissioner, said he has more than 35 years experience in real estate finance and economics, fiscal and economic analysis, asset management, public/private partnerships/joint ventures and infrastructure financing.

He also has more than 15 years of experience as a part-time faculty member at USC, teaching undergraduate and graduate courses in real estate finance and investment analysis.

Selvidge, a former member of the Board of Directors of the Rose Bowl Stadium Operating Company, said he is well-versed on public finance and fiscal policy and he has lectured on those topics at UCLA and Pepperdine University.

A decorated combat veteran, Selvidge said he is also retired from the U.S. Naval Reserve, Civil Engineer Corps (SEABEES), with the rank of Commander.

He attended the Pasadena Unified School District, graduating from John Muir High School. He attended Pasadena City College and USC where he earned degrees in Architecture, Systems Management and a Ph.D. in Finance.
