U.S. presidential hopeful Kirsten Gillibrand, the Democratic junior Senator from New York since 2009, will campaign stop in Pasadena Thursday morning.

Contender Senator Bernie Sanders will hold a rally here tomorrow.

Gillibrand will highlight a private event at the Women’s City Club of Pasadena at 10 a.m. today.

She is an attorney by training and prior to becoming a Senator she was a member of the U.S. House of Representatives from 2007 to 2009. She announced her candidacy for President of the United States on March 17th, 2019.

Her campaign touts her record as the strongest anti-Trump record in the entire U.S. Senate.

“She’s refused to back down, even when others bend—whether that’s to protect Dreamers and keep immigrant families together, to take care of 9/11 first responders or to defend reproductive rights and Planned Parenthood,” her campaign website says.

Gillibrand’s campaign only accepts donations from individuals and refuses political action committee donations.

The Senator’s visit is sponsored by a group called Women In Leadership Vital Voices, according to Lena Kennedy, a guiding force behind the local organization.

“We bring policymakers to our community first and let them know that Pasadena exists,” Kennedy told Pasadena Now. “Because when they come to Southern California, they always go to the west side.”
