Dog Haus Introduces Its First Vegan Item, Two New Cocktails

Dog Haus, the Pasadena-based craft casual restaurant chain known for its gourmet hot dogs, has introduced its first vegan item – its sixth and final limited-time offer in the company’s 2019 No Kid Hungry Chef Collaboration Series – along with two new cocktails for December.

Every purchase of the new vegan burger – named Take Bánh Mì – means a dollar donated to No Kid Hungry, Dog Haus’ national charity partner, whose mission is to end child hunger in America.

Take Bánh Mì is the product of Dog Haus partnering with Chef Ilan Hall, Top Chef season two winner, TV personality and the mind behind Ramen Hood.

“Having the opportunity to continually work with such an innovative brand has been a career highlight,” Hall said. “To say that I’m excited to work with this team is an understatement. I’m currently focused on creating vegan dishes that will surpass expectations and I’m honored to have the opportunity to use my culinary expertise to create Dog Haus’ very first vegan item.”

Made exclusively for Dog Haus’ acclaimed menu, Take Bánh Mì features an Impossible burger patty – one of the brand’s trademark plant-based items – topped with pickled vegetables, fresh jalapeños, cilantro, spicy vegan mayo, chili oil and hoisin sauce, and served on a vegan ciabatta roll.

The one-of-a-kind burger is available at Dog Haus locations nationwide throughout December.

Meanwhile, Dog Haus’ two new cocktails – the Patio Crusher and The Gatekeeper – were created in partnership with Mia Mastroianni, celebrity mixologist and TV personality featured on “Bar Rescue.” Like the new burger, a dollar of the purchase from each of Mastroianni’s two drinks will be donated to No Kid Hungry.

Patio Crusher is made with vodka, watermelon, lime, mint and cucumber, while The Gatekeeper is concocted using hefeweizen, lime, raspberry and hibiscus. Both drinks are available at Dog Haus Biergarten locations with a full bar, and at all Biergarten locations, including Pasadena, at 95 E. Green Street, the company said.

“We always look forward to our Chef Collaboration Series and we are excited to have just launched our Mixologist Collaboration,” Dog Haus Partner Hagop Giragossian said. “Ilan and Mia did a great job with December’s No Kid Hungry specials, I have no doubt that they will be a huge hit among our guests nationwide.”

In Pasadena, the other Dog Haus store is located at 105 North Hill Avenue.

The company’s Pasadena headquarters are at 22 Central Ct. Giragossian and his longtime friends Quasim Riaz and André Vener founded Dog Haus in 2010, opening its first store in the City.

Since then, Dog Haus has garnered critical acclaim for its signature all-beef dogs and hand-crafted sausages with no added nitrates, 100-percent Black Angus beef burgers, and a fried chicken sandwich, all made with hormone- and antibiotic-free meat and served on grilled King’s Hawaiian rolls.

With a mission to sustainably feed everyone who walks through their doors, Dog Haus now also offers plant-based burgers and sausages.

Dog Haus currently has over 30 locations nationwide, with 10 more in development.
