Authorities reported a vehicle ran a red light shortly before noon today at the corner of North Mentor Avenue and East Union Street and smashed into another vehicle, trapping one person.
A woman in her 70’s suffered a bruise to her forehead and was transported to a local hospital, Pasadena Police Sgt. John Mercado said. The woman had been a passenger in the vehicle which ran the red light.
Pasadena Fire Dept. spokesperson Lisa Derderian said the woman was “in stable condition.”
Although the radio call went out as a major accident, there were no other injuries requiring treatment at the scene, Mercado said.
Both vehicles — a Hyundai Sonata and a Town & Country minivan — received front end damage in the collision.
Mercado said that neither driver was cited.
