Eliot Arts Magnet Academy Annual Fund Benefit a Success

It was a beautiful summer evening in November, last weekend, when Eliot Arts Magnet Academy held a Benefit for its First Annual Fund, at the Terrace Room of the Altadena Town and Country Club. A pink sunset gave an auspicious glow to the group. They were assembled to celebrate and bid on silent and live auction items, supporting Eliot’s award-winning arts programs.

Event chairwoman was Jennifer Hall Lee, an Eliot parent and member of the Altadena Town Council. She praised the essential connections between the school district (PUSD), teachers, parents, and the community’s merchants and residents. Special thanks went to Craig Sloane, general manager of the club, for all his assistance.

Eliot’s federally funded arts magnet grant will be ending, so the Annual Fund is beginning, this time exceeding its goal for the evening. Among the popular auction items were lunch with PUSD Superintendent Brian McDonald (so popular that two winners – and lunches – were awarded), vacation trips, and a chance to go up in Eliot’s iconic tower. Also won was Lunch at the Langham with Principal Lori Touloumian, recently named PUSD’s Principal of theYear.

Eliot is planning performances and gallery shows all through the year. Everyone is welcome to come up and discover this crown jewel of Altadena. The tower is your landmark!
