A cherished annual tradition, Pasadena Dance Theater’s production of The Nutcracker takes viewers on a journey through Clara’s Christmas night adventure from the defeat of the Mouse King to the enchanted Sugar Plum Fairy and the lovable Mother Ginger. PDT’s production uses whimsical backgrounds, projections and moving set pieces to help bring the story to life.
This family-friendly production is sure to please. The dancers portray larger-than-life characters with grace to recreate this festive holiday classic. Performances are, December 9 and 10; December 16 and 17 at 2:00 p.m. and December 22 and 23 at 1:00 p.m. It will be a wonderful addition to your holiday tradition.
In addition to happy memories, the young ones in your family or group have a chance to experience Clara’s Holiday Party before the December 16 and 17 performances. A special treat for audience members young and old, enjoy refreshments and a visit from Clara and the Sugarplum Fairy. Keep a watchful eye out for the Mouse King who may try to steal some sweets.
Performances are made all the more memorable by being at the historic San Gabriel Mission Playhouse, a magnificent Spanish-style theater built in 1927 that’s situated next to the San Gabriel Mission, first established in the 1770s.
Tickets for performances are $20.00 – $65.00. Tickets for Clara’s Holiday Party are $30.00/adults and $25.00/children, please note a ticket for the performance must also be purchased.
