Accomplishment(s): Suarez had an historic evening at the CIF-State Track and Field Finals Saturday some 220 miles away from home in Fresno. The long distance runner, also a freshman at Mayfield, finished with a time of 4:48.04 in the 1600 Meter race. Her fifth-place effort (placing) at State was the best ever showing of any Cubs’ athlete in school history. Earlier this season, Suarez won the Redondo Nike Track and Field Invitational in the 800 Meter race.
