First United Church Methodist Church: A Night to Bear Witness

Published on Wednesday, March 18, 2015 | 4:37 pm

Justice Not Jails asks area churches to help create a powerful public witness against ongoing acts of anti-Black violence and ongoing systemic oppression of Black communities.

While much of the national focus has centered on problems in law enforcement and the criminal justice system, everyone knows that economic violence and economic disenfranchisement still account for immense suffering and usually form the backdrop to poisoned police-community relations.

As part of Lent, First United Methodist Churc will hold a one hour program/reflection, A Night to Bear Witness: Standing with the Abused and the Disappeared, Affirming that Black Lives Matter. Come and join the FUMC community for a moving program on March 24 in the Chapel at 7:00 p.m. For questions, call Mikala Rahn at (626) 688-7961.
