First United Methodist Church: Alternate Christmas Market

Published on Friday, November 27, 2015 | 11:01 am

During Coffee Hour on November 29, December 6 and 13 there will be the opportunity to select the charity or charities you would like to support. With each donation you will receive a card representing the charity to give to your loved ones. Both you and your recipient will experience the joy of your generosity to someone who has a deep need. What an appropriate way to celebrate Jesus’ birthday!

As you move toward Christmas, perhaps you find it difficult to know what to buy for those who are able to pick up what they need or want at any time. Perhaps you also think of many in our neighborhood and around the world who desperately need assistance and support to merely survive.

At the Alternative Christmas Market each year it is possible to support charitable work locally, nationally and in the world through the purchase of gift cards for your loved ones.

There are several options to choose from, where the needs are real and the charities are trustworthy including, Habitat for Humanity, Friends in Deed, Muir Ranch, FUMC Social Services Center, No More Malaria, Learning Works Charter School, and Give Ye Them To Eat (GYTTE).
