First United Methodist Church’s Summer Sunday School

Published on Monday, July 27, 2015 | 3:15 pm

One-room summer Sunday school continues through mid-August! This year, children entering grades K-6 have the opportunity to learn about the Kingdom of God through lessons surrounding Jesus’ life and teachings. Children will be dismissed from First United Methodist Church’s 10 am Sunday Worship following Time for Young Christians.

FUMC will be following Sonja Stewart’s Young Children and Worship and Following Jesus curriculum that fosters space for asking questions, wondering, and reflecting on biblical stories through liturgical practices, Scripture readings, prayer, storytelling, and interactive activities.

Parents and guardians will receive weekly follow-up questions and activities so that conversations of faith can continue at home. The church will also have a weekly check-in booth prior to the service for family to connect with the Sunday school teachers and receive further information about this program.

First United Methodist Church is excited and are praying for the children and the vision for this summer Sunday school program. For more information, contact Lia Lohr, One Room Sunday School coordinator, (626) 864-9490, lialohr@gmail.com
