Five Acres Announces 31st Golf Classic and Dinner “A Night at the Derby”

Annual event will raise critical funds for at-risk families and foster youth

Five Acres invites the community to join its 31st Golf Classic & Dinner, “A Night at the Derby” on Monday, September 17, 2018 at Oakmont Country Club in Glendale. All proceeds from the event will support Five Acres’ programs assisting foster care/adoption and mental health care for at-risk families.
Golfers will enjoy an 18-hole tournament during the day, where golfers and non-golfers alike can enjoy the evening’s Kentucky Derby-themed dinner celebration complete with live Bluegrass music, a gourmet meal with cocktails and a Best Hat and Bow Tie contest. Sensational auction items include a 7-day stay at Club Cascadas de Baja Resort in Cabo San Lucas, a VIP Kentucky Derby Day experience at Santa Anita Park and an 8-day Viking Cruises river cruise.

 

This year’s golf classic and dinner sponsorship committee is chaired by Five Acres board member Scott Street and co-chaired by Danny and Joey Reaume.

 

“Over its 31 years, the Five Acres Golf Classic and Dinner has raised more than $4 million for children and families in Los Angeles County and introduced hundreds of new supporters and friends to Five Acres,” said Street. “We’re especially excited this year to bring the event back to Oakmont Country Club and the City of Glendale and to celebrate this year’s Triple Crown winner, Justify, with a Kentucky Derby-themed tournament and dinner.”
