Five people have been displaced after a two-alarm fire tore through two apartment units in Pasadena early Friday morning, a City spokesperson said.

Fire and police crews responded to a call about an apartment fire in the 200 block of Grandview Street between Marengo and Garfield avenues at about 1:57 a.m., according to Pasadena Public Information Officer Lisa Derderian.

Derderian said the fire started in a first floor apartment and extended to the apartment above on the second floor. An arson investigator was called to the scene but found nothing suspicious as to how the fire started, according to police.

The investigation is continuing, Derderian said.

Derderian said no one was hurt in the blaze, however, five people who lived there will have to relocate due to extensive damage caused by the fire.

No damage cost estimate has been released at the time of this writing.
