A lot of people wondered how Muir would react to having 10 of its players suspended for Thursday night’s nonleague contest with Rancho Christian.

The Mustangs were in an altercation in Hayward last week at Stellar Prep and CIF laid down the hammer on both programs.

But you’d never know anyone was missing, as Muir got out early and often, and cruised past their visitors from Temecula.

Brian Love threw for three touchdowns and was incredibly effective and accurate in the 55-13 victory.

Aryonis Harrison stretched the Eagles defense with his blazing speed, including a nearly 50-yard TD to start the Muir onslaught.

Rancho Christian actually evened the score at 13-13 in the first quarter.

But Muir went on to score 42 unanswered points, and most of the second half was played with a running clock.

So many Mustangs’ players contributed for a senior class that is 3-0 for their first time at the school.

Love threw two scores to Nick Moore and as mentioned, the Muir quarterback began the game’s scoring with the 50-yard TD to Aryonis Harrison, who caught four balls for nearly 130 yards.

Amaris Harrison scored on a 2-yard run from quarterback and then made the play of the game.

In the third quarter, Amaris, the younger brother of Aryonis, recovered a snap that went over his head.

The junior, once he picked up the ball, ran to his left, took one step to his right, and then off his back foot, Harrison threw it up for grabs to Nick Moore for another score.

Moore caught three TD passes on the game.

Reggie Myles filled in at running back and scored once and Tyron Clark had a pair of rushing TD’s for the Mustangs.

Chuck Shull had a monster game on defense.

Shull recovered two fumbles and picked off Rancho Christian quarterback Kyle Keleher.

Muir will host Crescenta Valley (3-0) to open Pacific League play next Friday at 7.

The Mustangs and Falcons are the only two Pacific League programs without a loss.
