Foothill Family Service Completes Brand Study and Unveils New Name and Logo

As it nears its 90th anniversary, Foothill Family Service has engaged in a brand study to examine its position in the community and enhance its messaging and visual identity. In partnership with Doing Good Marketing, a firm based in Los Angeles’ South Bay that specializes in non-profit branding, Foothill Family Service has centralized its brand strategy and plans to move forward with a shortened name – Foothill Family – and new logo, the Foothill family tree (right).

“Since 1926, Foothill Family has been a stronghold in the Pasadena community, and in 90 years, has exponentially grown to serve the San Gabriel and Pomona Valleys, Glendale, and Burbank,” said Steve Allen, Foothill Family Chief Executive Officer. “Times have changed, populations have shifted, and our programs have grown and evolved alongside these communities. This brand study helped to reinforce the value of our services, the impact of our work, and the ever-growing need for Foothill Family to be visible and accessible to an extensive demographic and expansive geography.”

The rebranding, completed in June 2015, was rooted in the Foothill Family mission to build brighter futures by empowering children and families to overcome challenges and achieve success in relationships, school, and work.

In 2016, Foothill Family will celebrate 90 years of caring in the community through services and programs centered on dignity and respect, prevention and early intervention. Foothill Family’s focus on personalized, collaborative care has helped to launch thousands of families on healthy journeys.

Foothill Family provides a range of community-based mental health and social services to at-risk populations in the greater Los Angeles area and has earned a reputation for providing high-quality services aimed at empowering families and strengthening communities. Programs include mental health and school-based counseling for children, child abuse prevention and treatment, domestic violence prevention and treatment, early child development programs, services for pregnant teens and their babies, family counseling, and youth development. Last year, more than 22,000 children and their families benefited from Foothill Family’s life-changing programs.
