Rain Falls in Pasadena, As Predicted

Santa caught a break as cold but clear weather held steady Christmas Eve but forecasters were correct when they predicted Pasadena could feel rain Christmas night.

The National Weather Service had forecast up to 2 inches of rain and powerful gusty winds Christmas night.

Gusts could reach 45 mph, the Service said.

The heavy rain will diminish and turn to showers Thursday morning.

Conditions will clear on Friday and temperatures will be near normal by the weekend, National Weather Service forecasters said Christmas morning.

Here is the outlook:

Christmas Day: Rain, mainly after 5 p.m. High near 54. Southeast wind around 5 mph. Chance of precipitation is 80%.

Tonight: Rain. Low around 42. Breezy, with an east southeast wind 15 to 20 mph, with gusts as high as 45 mph. Chance of precipitation is 100%.

Thursday: Rain before 11am, then showers, mainly between 11am and 5pm. High near 54. Breezy, with an east wind 20 to 25 mph, with gusts as high as 50 mph. Chance of precipitation is 90%.

Thursday Night: A 30 percent chance of showers before 11pm. Partly cloudy, with a low around 40. North northeast wind around 10 mph, with gusts as high as 15 mph.

Friday: Sunny, with a high near 61. North northeast wind 10 to 15 mph, with gusts as high as 25 mph.

Friday Night: Mostly clear, with a low around 38.

Saturday: Sunny, with a high near 60.

Saturday Night: Mostly clear, with a low around 39.

Sunday: Sunny, with a high near 60.

Sunday Night: Partly cloudy, with a low around 42.

Monday: Mostly sunny, with a high near 60.

Monday Night: Partly cloudy, with a low around 43.

Tuesday: Mostly sunny, with a high near 63.
