Charles Tuaau, a former All-State defensive tackle from the 2010 Pasadena City College football team, has signed a NFL undrafted free agent contract with the Kansas City Chiefs.
Tuaau played for then head coach Dennis Gossard in his freshman season and was a unanimous selection to the 2010 SCFA All-National Southern Conference First Team. He made 45 tackles, 17 behind the line of scrimmage including five sacks, and added a team-high seven quarterback hurries.
The 6-foot-3, 310-pound Tuaau transferred to Riverside City College for his sophomore season and then attended Texas A&M-Commerce for his final two collegiate seasons. As a senior, Tuaau became a prolific pass rusher with 12.5 sacks and 25 tackles for loss overall (59 total tackles). Named an AFCA All-American and the Lonestar Conference Defensive Player of the Year, he received strong interest by NFL teams.
Tuaau was No. 23 on the D2Football.com’s Top 100 NCAA Division 2 prospects. He played his prep football at Leilehua High in Wahiawa, Hawaii.
