[Updated] Police said four men, two armed with handguns, broke into a residence with a teenaged boy home alone on Sunday

A black man wearing a hooded sweatshirt and jeans knocked on the door of the home in the 2800 block of Thorndyke Road about 7:09 p.m. and asked the teen for directions while at least two to three other individuals broke into the back of the house, according to Lt. Dahlstein of the Pasadena Police Department.

Dahlstein said, “They walked him around the house demanding valuables, but the family really didn’t have a lot of valuables.”

After walking him around the house and finding nothing of value to steal, they ransacked the house.

The teen was not hurt according to Dahlstein.

The suspects fled in an unknown direction, no vehicle was seen.

Dahlstein said the only loss reported was the cell phone of the juvenile.

At this time there is no known connection to a similar and unusual home invasion-style armed robbery which occurred on Sunday, August 12 at 9:26 p.m. when a group of four men, some armed with handguns, gained entry to a residence in the 2100 block of Brigden Road where suspects demanded money from an elderly couple.

In the earlier incident, and an 86-year-old man was struck in the head and required transportation to Huntington Hospital for treatment.
