Fourth of July 2015 Closures, Reminders for Pasadena

Pasadena residents, businesses and visitors are reminded that City Hall and most City business offices and administrative services will be closed on both Friday, July 3 and Saturday, July 4, 2015, Independence Day, in observance of our Great Nation’s Birthday. All such City services will resume regular schedules on Monday, July 6, 2015.

The City Council will not meet in regular session on either Monday, June 29 or Monday, July 6. The Council’s next regular meeting is scheduled for Monday, July 13, 2015.

Pasadena Fire and Police Departments will continue to be staffed for all patrol, jail, fire, paramedic and other emergency services, including special enforcement patrols against all fireworks in city neighborhoods. For life-threatening emergencies, always call 9-1-1, and “If You See Something, Say Something,” especially illegal fireworks, call: (626) 744-4241.

Pasadena residents and businesses with any power emergencies should call the Pasadena Water and Power (PWP) Department at (626) 744-4673 and for water-related emergencies call (626) 744-4138. PWP’s Customer Service Call Center will be closed July 3 and July 4, but customers can access their accounts and make payments by phone at (626) 744-4005 or online at www.PWPweb.com. The Municipal Services Payment Center at City Hall also will be closed.

Residents with City of Pasadena trash and recycling pickup services will be on a regular schedule for trash, recycling and yard waste pickups the week of June 29 to July 4. No pickups for bulky items will be scheduled for July 4.

All Pasadena Public Library sites will be closed on July 3 and July 4. The Pasadena Citizen Service Center, the City’s general call center, is closed July 4, but will be open on July 3 from 7:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. to handle non-emergency inquiries, at (626) 744-7311.

All City’s ARTS (Area Rapid Transit Service) and Dial-A-Ride transportation programs, plus parking enforcement operations will be on regular schedules for Friday, July 3. ARTS and Dial-A-Ride will not be operating July 4, but will resume regular service on Monday, July 6. All parking meters are free and parking time limits will not enforced on July 4, but tickets for red curb parking, blocking fire hydrants and overnight parking restrictions will be issued.

All City Recreation and Community Centers will be closed on both July 3 and July 4, but all parks will be open for picnics, fun and festivities. No site reservations are accepted on holidays.

All City-operated pools are open July 3 for scheduled recreational and swim lessons. On Saturday, July 4, the Pasadena High School pool is open for recreational swim noon to 3 p.m. Information on pools and swimming opportunities is online at www.cityofpasadena/net/aquatics. The “Splash Pad” water play facility at La Pintoresca Park is closed due to the drought.
