Help your garden grow, control weeds and retain moisture in your soil while adding a polished touch to your garden landscape. The Pasadena Department of Public Works is offering free mulch while supplies last as another environmentally friendly service to residents.
Beginning on June 1, the City’s new Mulch Give-Away program will allow Pasadena residents to pick up free mulch, a nutrient-rich blend of tree trimmings from City street trees, for use in their yards. To get mulch, residents will need a shovel, containers, gloves and eye protection. Residents may take as much free mulch as needed while supplies last. The mulch is available for residential uses only. Commercial and business uses are prohibited.
The mulch will available from 6:00 a.m. to 10:00 p.m. daily at Victory Park, 2575 Paloma Street beginning Saturday June 1. The mulch will be located in the southeast corner of the parking lot adjacent to Paloma Street. Additional loads of mulch will be delivered on Saturday July 6, August 3, and September 14.
The mulch comes from the trimmings of Pasadena’s street trees by the Department of Public Works.
