Freedom & Fashion, an organization that empowers youth to overcome trafficking, homelessness and other injustices by using the arts of fashion and beauty as a focus of expression, is hosting their 9th annual fashion show benefit entitled “Young Americans” on Saturday November 18th at CTRL Collective in Pasadena at 7:00 p.m. The annual fashion show benefit hopes to raise much needed funds to support their 2018 programs.

Freedom & Fashion’s annual fashion show is a celebration of youth’s power, creativity and uniqueness. It is also an event to raise awareness about the injustices these young people are overcoming (i.e.: sex trafficking, homelessness, abandonment, physical abuse). From creative direction to design to ambiance, this show is 100% curated and designed by the program’s students. This year, “Young Americans” is a fashion collection created to express the diverse experiences and struggles this young generation faces as activists for justice, equality, and acceptance.

“Fashion is one of the most universal forms of communication. Since the beginning of humankind, it has been used as a means of expression of gender, tribe, statuses. By infusing practical lessons of the fashion industry with important conversations (self-image, leadership, power of choices) it has been proven that our students break through unhealthy cycles, heal from past traumas, and experience true freedoms,” shares Freedom & Fashion founder Laverne Delgado-Small.

The fashion show benefit is being hosted by Chi-Lan, co-host of daytime CBS talk show THE TALK. Guests will also enjoy an open bar cocktail hour prior to the fashion show as well as silent auction items from Smashbox Cosmetics, Hot 8 Yoga, BeatUp Creations, and more. Tickets range from $80-$200 and are on sale now.

This year’s sponsors include Bedhead Pajamas, Smashbox Studios, CTRL Collective, Salon Session Pasadena, As We Dwell, and Tito’s Vodka.

CTRL Collective is located at 45 S. Arroyo Parkway. For more information, go to www.freedomandfashion.org, tickets: http://bit.ly/2z2Ddxx
