On Wednesday, The National Academy of Television Arts & Sciences (NATAS) announced the nominees for the 45th Annual Daytime Emmy® Awards.

The Daytime Emmys recognize outstanding achievement in all fields of daytime television production and are presented to individuals and programs broadcast from 2:00 a.m.-6:00 p.m. during the 2017 calendar year. The awards gala honors more than 70 craft & program categories behind the many shows that grace the Daytime genre.

ABC’s “General Hospital” leads with 26 nominations, followed by

“Days of Our Lives” (NBC) and “The Young and the Restless” (CBS) with 25 apiece. CBS’ “The Bold and the Beautiful” rounds out the nominees for daytime drama series.

CBS and syndicated programming tied for the No. 1 ranking among networks, with 66 mentions apiece, while online compitior Netflix weighed in with 51 bids.

CBS landed two shows in the category of best morning show: “CBS Sunday Morning” and “CBS This Morning.” ABC’s “Good Morning America” and NBC’s “Today” are also contenders.

Familiar faces pace the race for entertainment talk show: syndicated series “Live With Kelly and Ryan,” “The Ellen DeGeneres Show,” “The Real” and CBS’ “The Talk” and ABC’s “The View.” Except for Ellen DeGeneres, the hosts of those shows were also nominated for talk show host, along with “Harry’s” Harry Connick Jr.

The ceremony will be held at the Pasadena Civic Auditorium on Sunday, April 29 and is hosted by Mario Lopez, host of the Emmy award-winning syndicated entertainment news show, Extra, and Sheryl Underwood, one of the hosts of the Emmy award-winning, CBS Daytime program, “The Talk.”

The Daytime Creative Arts Emmy Awards will also be held at the Pasadena Civic Auditorium on Friday, April 27.
