The Granville Café mini-chain of restaurants will is on track to open a new corner restaurant on South Lake by Christmas featuring a unique feature: plein aire rooftop dining.

This will be the fifth Granville Café in addition to its locations in West Hollywood, Studio City, Glendale and Burbank.

The “globally-inspired” modern-casual eatery, which also boasts of its sustainable and organic coffee and espresso, is set to open by the end of the year at 270 S. Lake Avenue, on the corner of E. Del Mar Blvd., where Pampa, the high-end furniture store, used to be. Pampa closed its Pasadena store several years ago.

Granville Café serves gourmet quality food that “should not only be approachable and accessible but also affordable,” with a diverse menu.

Their staff members are called Villagers, who are required to be experts on the café’s menu so they can offer as much information and guidance as possible, and who work in an environment that promotes mutual respect, teamwork, and professionalism.

“We require our Villagers to meet our high service standards, but at the same time encourage them to be themselves and to allow their personalities to shine through, which creates a richly dynamic yet still high-quality level of service for our guests,” the chain’s website says.
