Warman, Marv and Joyce 2016

Join La Canada Presbyterian Church on Sunday, February 21, at 9:30 a.m. in Fellowship Hall as Drs. Marv and Joyce Warman explore with participants “The Marriage Adventure.” There are “seasons” in a marriage relating to how couples are emotionally “connected.” What are some of the dynamics with the relationship during each “season”? Engaging and Re-Engaging – practical communication tools to stay engaged with our spouse and how to re-engage by giving and forgiving will be shared.

Guest speakers, Joyce and Marvin Warman were married in 1968 and combine the experiences of over forty years of pastoral and counseling ministry into a unique style of writing and teaching together. They have raised their family in their home in Burbank, California. Marv is an ordained minister and a licensed Marriage and Family Therapist in private practice in La Canada, California. Joyce is a voice, piano, and theory instructor. Marv and Joyce have served on pastoral staff with Evangelical Free Churches and Lake Avenue Church in Pasadena, their home church, where they still remain active teaching parenting classes and a premarital series: Grounds For Marriage.

The Warmans have co-authored with Bill and Martha Sears Parent Project: Tools For Godly Parenting. Joyce is a regular contributor for the Spanish magazine, La Familia. Marv and Joyce founded Warm an’ Loving Ministries and are frequent speakers at conferences and retreats. Warm an’ Loving offers personal counseling, seminars and workshops on a wide variety of topics drawn from their studies and from their experiences as parents of three grown daughters, three sons by marriage, and as grandparents to 7 lovely grandchildren.

Growing Families is a monthly seminar-type class at the La Canada Presbyterian Church for parents and grandparents, led by a variety of people; some are experts in the field of child development, psychology, and education while others are parents who offer to others what has worked for their families.
