Pasadena police said two unknown young men both armed with handguns fired five or six gunshots at a 20-year-old Pomona resident as he stood in front of a house in the 300 block of Barthe Drive at about 3:08 a.m. Saturday morning.

The victim was not struck by the bullets, however he did sustain minor abrasions to his hands when he fell down while running away from the gunfire, police said.

Authorities said the victim told responding officer the suspects yelled at him before opening fire.

The responding officers located evidence of a shooting at the scene.  No additional victims were located, police said.

The victim told the officers the men who fired at him were both 20 to 25-year-old Hispanic men wearing hooded sweatshirts.

An investigation is ongoing as to whether the incident was gang related.
