A hard-hitting Pasadena talk show that host James Farr describes as focused on “what is at the root” of local issues launches its second season today at 3 p.m. on the Arroyo Channel on Spectrum and AT&T U-Verse while simultaneously streaming on Facebook.
Farr’s first guest on the season opener of The Conversation.Live will be Major Williams, an early candidate for Mayor of Pasadena in the 2020 election.
“Who in Pasadena hasn’t been in the seat?” Farr asks. “I’ve sat down with Dr. Melina Abdullah organizer of Black Lives Matter LA, two Chief’s of Pasadena PD, Vice Mayor Kennedy, Vice Mayor Elect Hampton, Assemblymember Holden, Pasadena City Manager Steve Mermell and Pasadena former Mayor Bill Paparian to name a few.”
Farr’s first season saw 150 episodes in which he blended straight-talking dialog with in-studio-guests.
Farr’s style is unflinching and the show can be provocative.
In comments provided by Farr, local viewers described the show as entertaining and unapologetic.
“James makes you think about the issue at hand and its long term impact on social justice. When I listen to the show I always leave wanting to have more conversation. We’re at a stage in history where honest dialogue is a must and conversation live does just that, keep it real. Keep doing what you’re doing … Mr. Farr,” Pasadenan Yvette McDowell wrote.
Rebecca Fleming said Farr manages to capture the true reality of the issues facing Pasadena in a clear…concise and articulate manner. His insight causes you to stop and think…even if you don’t agree with him.
