Christianne Kerns, a Partner in Hahn & Hahn’s Business practice, and Laura Farber, a Partner in the Litigation and Employment practices, were both selected as honorees in today’s Los Angeles Business Journal special supplement recognizing the city’s 75 most influential women attorneys.
Farber “will make history as President for the 2019-2020 Tournament of Roses year…as the first Latina and third woman to serve, she will offer an important unique perspective and fresh approach,” the report says. “Farber will provide leadership for the 131st Rose Parade and the 106th Rose Bowl Game on Wednesday, January 1, 2020.”
As a member of Hahn & Hahn’s Litigation and Employment practice groups, Farber brings and defends claims before all state and federal courts and administrative agencies, for general and complex civil matters in a wide range of areas. Her expertise includes wage and hour and employment claims, business and commercial disputes, and tort claims. Farber also counsels entities on wage and hour issues, and provides legal advice regarding employment disputes.
Kerns, who is receiving the honor for the second year in a row, “is a trusted board member and advisor to boards of directors, equity holders, and C-suite executives with a track record of identifying and effectively addressing strategic and operational challenges with the overarching goal of optimizing results, value and ROI,” the report says.
Kerns obtained her J.D. from University of Southern California Gould School of Law, and “has extensive expertise in a wide variety of real estate and commercial transactions and general business matters, with emphasis in commercial and real estate finance,” says the annual supplement. “She is uniquely skilled at calmly assessing a wide range of complex data, goals, points of view, and ideas from a wide range of stakeholders to help executive teams create solutions to business challenges.”
Los Angeles Business Journal Publisher and CEO Anna Magzanyan explained that the honorees have been recognized for “exceptional legal skill and achievement across the full spectrum of responsibility, exemplary leadership as evidenced by the highest professional and ethical standards, and for contributions to the Los Angeles community at large… there are some particularly stellar attorneys in the LA region who happen to be women…thank you for working to keep the people and businesses of LA on the right track.”
The supplement adds that Farber, a UCLA alum who obtained her J.D. from Georgetown University Law Center, is “an outstanding lawyer who has been a tremendous leader in a variety of organizations throughout her career. She is a member of the American Bar Association, where she serves as the State Delegate for California in the House of Delegates, Chair of the Latin American and Caribbean Initiative Council, a member of the Rule of Law Initiative Board, and a member of the Steering Committee of the Nominating Committee.”
