Hanukkah Celebrations Begin in Pasadena on Tuesday

The Jewish community in Pasadena is celebrating Hanukkah, the eight-day Jewish wintertime Festival of Lights, which ends at nightfall on Wednesday, December 20.

Several events have been announced.

The Chabad of Pasadena has scheduled a Menorah Lighting event at Westfield Santa Anita, at 400 South Baldwin Avenue, on Wednesday, December 13, starting at 5:30 p.m. The event will feature a raffle draw for a $250 Westfield gift card, hot latkes, jelly donuts, chocolate gelt, and dreidels. There will also be live music and light up menorah necklaces arts and crafts.

A Grand Hanukkah Celebration will be held on Sunday, December 17, at the Pasadena City Hall, from 3:30 to 5 p.m. The free event will feature live music, hot latkes, dreidels, a build-your-own-fidget-dreidel activity, crafts and the Grand Menorah Lighting.

At the Pasadena Jewish Temple and Center, a Hanukkah Whitman Dinner is free to PJTC members at 6 p.m. Friday, December 15, which will be followed by a Shabbat Service at 7:30 p.m.

PJTC is holding its Light In The Night Family Hanukkah Party, Sunday, December 17, from 4 p.m. to 6 p.m. at 1434 N. Altadena Dr. in Pasadena.
