The Club opened the doors of its Villa for an afternoon of fun, fashion and fabulous finds from the many vendors who braved the rainy weather to support the annual event. Cynthia Brooks Catering served a trio of delicious salads as fashions from “My Fair Lady” in Tarzana were modeled by members of the club. Resort wear and cocktail casual were the style of the day. Beautiful vintage centerpieces featuring hat vases with spring flowers graced the tables. Decorative vintage hats were on display though out the Villa. Everything from art pieces and silk wraps to beautiful jewelry by Georgina were available to the more than 100 guests to peruse and purchase.

All proceeds from the event support the Shakespeare Club’s “Scholarship Program”. This is the 67th year the club will present scholarships to students at Blair, Pasadena, John Muir and Marshall Fundamental High Schools.

The recipients will be treated to a luncheon where they will be presented their scholarships on May 17th. For information and reservations, please call (626) 793-5714.

The Shakespeare Club of Pasadena was organized in 1888 and has the distinction of being the oldest women’s club in Southern California. The Shakespeare Club supports numerous charitable causes in the Pasadena and San Gabriel Valley area, giving its members opportunities to help those less fortunate than ourselves: Rosemary’s Children’s Services, Friends of Foster Children, Villa Esperanza, the Walter Hoving Home, The Women’s Room Project, Door of Hope, Cancer Support Community, and Trinity Youth Services. The Club’s purpose: the cultural, educational and philanthropic interests of its members. That purpose still prevails today.
