A high-speed pursuit which started in Victorville came to a dramatic conclusion Thursday night on a Pasadena street about 8:46 p.m. when the driver and his passenger were taken into custody by California Highway Patrol officers.
Pasadena Police Lt. William Grisafe the arrests took place on North Marengo Avenue just south of Orange Grove Boulevard.
The driver, who led authorities on a dangerous chase, exited the 210 freeway in a sedan that was smoking.
The driver had crashed into at least one other car during the high-speed chase.
KCAL-9 reported that there were originally four people in the car, but two were let out in Rancho Cucamonga before the driver continued fleeing west into Los Angeles County.
Although the law enforcement and television helicopters attracted a lot of attention in the nearby Pasadena neighborhoods, the suspects were quickly arrested without incident.
No Pasadena police were involved in the incident, Lt. Grisafe said.
