Pasadena Police have arrested the driver allegedly responsible for a hit and run traffic collision in the 900 block of Seco Street that caused significant injuries to the car’s passengers.

On Thursday, July 12 at 9:43 pm, the suspect, Altadena man Walter Fuentes, 23, was heading east on Seco Street when he drove the car into a light pole, according to Pasadena Police Lt. William Grisafe.

After hitting the pole, Fuentes allegedly bailed out of the car and ran. He was captured by police a short time later.

Both passengers in the car were seriously injured, according to Lt. Grisafe.

One passenger, a 27-year-old Pasadena man, sustained life-threatening internal injuries, while another passenger, a 22-year-old Pasadena man, sustained major internal injuries. They were transported to a local hospital for treatment.

Lt. Grisafe also said that alcohol may have played a role in the collision.

Fuentes, who was not injured, was booked on felony hit-and-run and is in custody at the Pasadena Jail. His bail has been set at $100,000.
